dallas skatepark goals: our definition of success

  • A 30,000-75,000 square foot, permanent, poured-in concrete skatepark

  • Features suitable for skaters of all levels with progression

  • A venue that is welcoming, beautiful, safe and fun

  • Accessible by multiple modes of transit, including DART and bike/walk

  • A true public amenity, where families visit together, or just watch the talented young people of the city of Dallas, with benches and shade and other beneficial facilities

  • Skateboard appropriate lighting for night skating

  • Skatepark Master Plan developed to identify opportunities for permanent concrete skate parks in each city council district

Our aim is for both Bachman Lake and Oak Cliff Skatepark projects to achieve these park design goals.

after the skateparks are built, what next?

  • Skateparks don’t need activation, they are hubs, but we aim to help activate the Dallas skateparks by partnering with Dallas Parks & Recreation for skateboard lessons, camps, and contests that involve the community.

  • Garland skatepark has been a mecca since it opened, including with monthly clean up days, contests and meetups.
